[The Truth About Most Self-Confidence Advice]

Whack into google “self-confidence advice” and you’ll be hit with a plethora of web pages and articles with self confidence advice. About 284,000,000 results to be exact.

But is any of it any good?

Now before I continue, I’m not attacking anyone, I’m not here to criticise or chastise anyone.

What I am going to do, however, is point out where the advice doesn’t quite “do it” for me.

See I believe that the depth and strength of our foundations of confidence determine the heights that our life will climb to.

Think about it like a sky scraper. In order for a building to tower above a city it must have deep and strong foundations.

Not only is the height of the building determined by how solid the foundations are, but the stability of the building too!

Makes sense right?

The more lofty and ambitious we want our lives to be, the deeper and stronger we must dig the foundations of our confidence.

So a question I always find useful to ask when looking at confidence advice is “How DEEP does it go?”.

The last thing you want to do is build yourself a nice tall tower, only to realise that it’s built on pretty shitty foundations! And you DEFINITELY don’t want to figure this out at the point it all comes crashing down!

How DEEP do you think these commonbits of confidence advice go?

"Groom yourself."

"Dress nicely."

"Think positive."

"Kill negative thoughts.”

"Act positive."

"Speak slowly."

"Stand tall."

"Spritz on a scent."

The truth is, that in my experience, there is a LOT of confidence advice out there, yet FAR too much of it isn’t nearly deep enough to support the lives many of us want to build!

The truth is, not matter how “tall” you want your life to be, it’s still going to need a solid foundation to be built upon right?

The truth is, that until you decide to commit the time, effort and energy to digging your confidence foundations deep, strong and stable, you’ll ALWAYS struggle to build a life that is unshakable.

And that would be a real shame, don’t ya think?
