[How To Choose To Be Unhappy]
Whilst we play this game we call life, we all want to be happy or happier whilst we go about the business of playing.
As it turns out, we each have our own conditions for being happy.
Which means we also have conditions for being unhappy.
We tell ourselves that we will be happy when...
We earn X amount of money.
We live in that area.
We own that house.
We drive that car.
We have that family.
We go on those holidays.
We have that social status.
We have that job title.
We have the dream relationship.
We are liked and revered by everyone we meet.
We can fix peoples problems.
We have our dream life.
Is it any wonder then, why happiness is not so forthcoming in our lives?
By default we are saying we will be unhappy whilst...
We don’t earn X amount of money.
We don’t live in that area.
We don’t own that house.
We don’t drive that car.
We don’t have that family.
We don’t go on those holidays.
We don’t have that social status.
We don’t have that job title.
We don’t have the dream relationship.
We aren’t liked and revered by everyone we meet.
We can’t fix peoples problems.
We don’t have our dream life.
We each have our own unique check list of what HAS to happen for us to be happy or unhappy.
Unfortunately, it only usually takes 1 or conditions of unhappiness being met to make us unhappy.
Where as it takes ALL the conditions of being happy to be met to make us happy.
So if you want to be UNHAPPY, add to the list, create more conditions and keep piling them on until it becomes fucking impossible for you to ever be happy (if it isn’t already).
If being unhappy doesn’t sound like so much fun, it might be time to ditch some one those conditions, or at least make them something you can achieve FREQUENTLY.
What is your happiness check list?
Truth, Joy, Love
P.s. Over in the tribe we like to chit chat about this stuff. If you want to chit chat some more too, we’d LOVE to have you!
